When working with a specific embroidery machine, it’s best to consult the machine’s manual to determine the compatible file formats for embroidery digitizing. Some machines can support a wide variety of file types and some machines can read multiple formats, providing flexibility in design choices. However, here are some of the most commonly used formats that we provide.
- .DST – This format is most widely used with Tajima embroidery machines and is the most commonly requested file type
- .PES -Designs created in .PES are used typically on Brother embroidery machines.
- .EXP – Those with Melco embroidery machines tend to prefer .EXP files
- .EMB – The .EMB format is associated with Wilcom embroidery software. Wilcom is used by a variety of embroidery machines and is therefore a versatile format for digitizing.
